| The beautiful, unspoilt and
relatively unknown island of Lefkas is situated to the south of Corfu and
linked to the mainland by a swing bridge. It is easily accessible by road from the newly extended and refurbished airport of Preveza - a journey of around twenty minutes. Regular ferries also operate from various ports in Italy to Igoumenitsa on the mainland which is just a 2 hour drive away. Lefkas is also a perfect location for visiting the other islands with regular ferries to nearby Meganisi, Ithaca and Kefalonia. |

The island is very green with an abundance of olive groves, orange and lemon trees, firs and palms. The west coast has very steep mountains leading down to some of the best beaches on the island with the evenings offering magnificent sunsets over the Ionian Sea. On the east coast the sloping mountains offer incredible views of the surrounding islands and the mainland and beautiful sun and moon rises glistening over the turquoise waters - here you will find the main harbours of Nidri, Nikiana and Lygia where fisherman mingle amongst the yachting fraternity. To the north is the main town of Lefkas with its new Marina , and to the South, Vasiliki the windsurfing capital of the island. There are many places to visit on the island where you can go just too lose yourself and go back in time. Lefkas maintains its character and charm due to the absence of mass tourism and strict laws against construction of high rise buildings.
